Boom! Spring Break

March 22, 2009

It’s Spring Break at last! Woot! Been a few months now since we’ve had a nice break from school. Though finals right before sucked, big time. I was sleeping for 4 hours at a time, once at late night and once in the afternoon. Totally messed up my sleeping because now it’s broken into two. I’ll have to recover it over Spring Break. Totally took advantage of it Saturday and slept late, haha.

With Spring Break upon us, we definitely need to relax from all the hard work we’ve been doing. Relax, have fun, and waste away for a week.

Awesome. Hopefully.

Could Not Find Connection, Face

March 16, 2009

It’s a strange hour to be awake, nearly 4:30AM. I’ve done it before though, but just not regularly. Reason is that I went to bed at 11PM, and woke up again! Lame. Not as lame as what my lack of house Internet has felt like.

I was hanging out with John earlier today and left for home around 8PM. I got home, turned on the light in my room and powered on my computer. That’s when the first sign of no connection hit, my little desktop weather widget. It usually shows a little 4-day forecast once it’s connected to the Internet. Tonight? Nothing. Same thing with my email notifier. Ugh. Ok, maybe just their servers were down. I really wished.

I tried to connect to AIM. While it was attempting, I tried to go online with Firefox. Both, at the same time, came back with a no connection message. FAIL. My dad must have messed with the router and killed the Internet. At that point, I was just not in the mood to work any IT magic. Luckily, I still had an Internet connection available through my iPhone.

So, my normal routine was limited once again to what I could do with my iPhone. Checking nearly 200 Google Reader stories, reading emails, and just surfing in general. At one point, I wanted to stop and play Team Fortress 2, but BLAH, the desktop doesn’t have Internet. I wanted to download new podcasts, but wouldn’t work without a Wi-fi connection.

Then, I wanted to watch somethings on YouTube which led to another FAIL again. Apparently with the iPhone, the YouTube application’s video quality depends on your connection. With Wi-fi, you get great quality because you have a fast connection. With 3G, you get low quality for faster loading. But it’s low quality, which screwed me over when I wanted to watch something with subtitles.

I just about gave up and just started reading. I have the Amazon Kindle application on my iPhone and a few books on it. After falling asleep, I awoke once again at this insane hour to find my net connection still dead and the random want to express my deprevation from my phone. NEED INTERNETZ, NAO!

Update: It’s back! After no internet all night, I finally have it back after resetting the router in my dad’s room. Finally! Sheesh, this really does show my addiction to the web.

Movie Review: Transporter 3 (No spoiler)

March 13, 2009

So, after my not so great experience with The Happening, I went to return it with hopes of finding a different movie that might alleviate the pain. I noticed Transporter 3 was out on DVD. Originally, I was supposed to have watched it in theatres the night it came out, but unforeseen circumstances made that not happen (namely, somebody forgot to invite, BLEH.) Needless to say, I rubbed it in their face and now am forced to suffice with a simple rental.

Oblivious

March 13, 2009

Just short rant about people on the freeway who seem to be oblivious to everyone else on the road!

Earlier today, I was driving with some friends to IKEA to meet a consultant. We were on 101 North and one of those SMART cars just cut me off. And I don’t mean like, pass me in front of me quickly. They were directly to my right, sped up to get 1 foot in front of me, and swerved sharply into my lane! Then, they slowed down! And it wasn’t like I was driving super slow, I was in the lane with all the cars doing 75 MPH! It was a freakin’ smart car driving like a maniac.

So, as I approached my exit (University), I got into the far right lane to prepare. For some reason though, it was super slow. Insanely slow. I was literally on the butt of the car in front me. Hating people who drive like that, I backed off to leave some space. That’s when I was able to glance ahead and realize there were no cars in front! The car in front of me was driving 45 MPH for freakin’ reason, no emergency lights, not an elderly person, not a baby on board. Just SLOW. Seriously, do they not realize it’s the freeway, not local roads.

I hate people who are oblivious to other drivers on the road. Please, I know you need to drive defensively, but also me mindful of other people on the road!

My small rant.

Movie Review: The Happening (No spoiler)

March 11, 2009

The craziness known as the opening weekend of Watchmen has passed and I’m still one of the few people who haven’t gone to watch it yet. Instead, what did I end up renting yesterday night? The Happening. I thought, “Hey, let’s get a movie to watch while I have my late dinner tonight.” Bad Idea. I’ll try to not spoil the movie.

Melinda Gates and iPods

March 9, 2009

Haha, too funny. Melinda Gates (Bill Gate’s wife) told in an interview that iPods weren’t allowed in their household. She did let slip that sometimes she wishes for a iPhone like some of her friends. So, the most obvious thing to do is to make a spoof!!!! Here’s a (pretend) funny private confession of Melinda Gates, recorded on an iMac, haha.

SoN: Much Madness and MWC!

March 3, 2009

Well, this one has been in waiting for a while. Been neglecting to post because I kept finding other stories that were interesting. Bad idea, cause now I have too many stories and will have to select only the ones worth posting about. I know all the news I’ve gathered from Mobile World Congress alone will be a crazy crunch. I’ll have MWC stuff at the bottom. The summary/peak will be done different, not so specific as before. Here a peak at the Stories of Note:

  • Some news from the Auto world.
  • More Bankruptcy…
  • Hacking Signs and Legal battles
  • Product releases, gaming and whatnot.
  • Death up the rectum, oh god.
  • Other random tidbit news.
  • MWC! It’s get’s it’s own huge section.

Hit the jump to read through the crazy mess.
